    Fracture of tibia and fibula with 100% displacement of both long bones:

    What else do you notice in the xray? Yes, a splint. Note the importance of placing a splint as a pain control measure before the xray is obtained.

    Could a misplaced splint, over time, lead to an acute compartment syndrome?
